HashOcean Bitcoin Miner Disappears Along with Millions of Dollars Worth of Bitcoin

Usual website activities of a major Bitcoin miner Hashocean are nowhere to be found, fuelling suggestions that the cloudminer is a scam.

Hashocean to another Ocean’s Trilogy

According to ‘Is It Down Right Now’ which monitors the status of favorite web sites and checks whether they are down or not using the test tool below, as well as graphs and users’ comments, Hashocean has been down for more than five days.

A visit to the Hashocean website shows the ‘403 Forbidden cloudflare-nginx’ message. “Hashocean.com is PARKED,” "Is It Down Right Now" says. “The website is either expired or listed for sale...” As at the time of this publication, it says the Hashocean site has been down for about 5 days 19 hours. Its youtube and Facebook pages have also been removed.

Now, based on the assumption that the miner has disappeared with the money invested by its subscribers - reportedly about 700,000 of them, several comments have trailed Hashocean’s sudden disappearance.

Subscribers’ views

OrionOverwatch writes on Reddit:

“I calculated how much money they ran away with. They pay around 1900 Bitcoins every single day during the last couple of days and they received about 2200 a day, except from yesterday which is probably why they shut down. Looking at the different dates and making a rough estimation it's pretty easy to find out they earned on average about 140 Bitcoins a day during roughly 20 months which would be a cool 50M$. (it's probably around 35M$ and 65M$). They will probably sell a small number of the Bitcoins every day which will obviously make the price per Bitcoin decrease significantly during the next days, months or even years. Kind of a pessimistic opinion but a realistic one.”

Spoonfednonsense says:

“Yeah I lost 1.75 Bitcoin myself. Saw it coming with the Halving coming up. I even knew it was a Ponzi scheme (a fool and his money are easily parted, is the lesson I learned from this one.”

Another posted a link to the report on the site’s domain registration details which cite Richard Maisano as its owner and seeking to get the issue reported to the relevant authorities.

However, despite the gloomy view to it, some are still hopeful.

Johann Steynberg in his comment on www.isitdownrightnow.com, writes in response to another comment which suggested through a link that the miner will be back soon:

“Thank you. Let's wait and see what happens when the new payment run is due. Only then will we be able to know for sure.”

China Launching Gold Backed Global Currency

According to the article, China is recasting all of their gold reserves into small one kilo bars in order to issue a new “gold-backed” currency. Many say this will disrupt global trade and will eventually cause a collapse of the US dollar.

There can be no doubt that the US dollar will soon be history. China is recasting all of their gold reserves into small one kilo bars in order to issue a new ‘gold backed’ global currency. This is surely a strategic part of their recent push to sign new trade agreements with Russia, Japan, Chile, Brazil, India, and Iran. The cat is now out of the bag, the US will be given the ‘bums rush’ by the largest trading nations in the world and the dollar will go down in flames. GATA now estimates that 80% of the gold that investors believe they have in allocated accounts is long gone, the majority of it probably wound up in China.

Many are the events, signals, and telltale clues of a real live actual systemic failure in progress. Until the last several months, such banter was dismissed by the soldiers in the financial arena. But lately, they cannot dismiss the onslaught of evidence, a veritable plethora of ugly symptoms of conditions gone terribly wrong and solutions at best gone awry and at worst never intended in the first place.

CHINA RECASTS GOLD BARS

China is well along an ambitious plan to recast large gold bars into smaller 1-kg bars on a massive scale. A major event is brewing that will disrupt global trade and assuredly the global banking system. The big gold recast project points to the Chinese preparing for a new system of trade settlement. In the process they must be constructing a foundation for a possible new monetary system based in gold that supports the trade payments. Initally used for trade, it will later be used in banking.

Two messages are unmistakable.

A grand flipped bird (aka FU) is being given to the Western and British system of pounds and ounces and other queer ton measures. But perhaps something bigger is involved. Maybe a formal investigation of tungsten laced bars is being conducted in hidden manner. In early 2010, the issue of tungsten salted bars became a big story, obviously kept hush hush. The trails emanated from Fort Knox, as in pilferage of its inventory. The pathways extended through Panama in other routes known to the contraband crowd, that perverse trade of white powder known on the street as Horse & Blow, or Boy & Girl. USDollar system. The Chinese are removing thousands of metric tons of gold bars from London, New York, and Switzerland. They are recasting the bars, no longer to bear weights in ounces, but rather kilograms.

The larger Good Delivery bars are being reduced into 1-kg bars and stored in China. It is not clear whether the recast project is being done entirely in China, as some indication has come that Swiss foundries might be involved, since they have so much experience and capacity.

Russian Central Bank Official Predicts Blockchain Future

The deputy chair of Russia’s central bank has reportedly told commercial banking representatives that they should expect their industry to embrace blockchain technology in the next two years.

Moscow-based Rambler News Service has reported that deputy chair Olga Skorobogatova, appointed in 2014, told members of the country’s banking sector that the central bank sees a major role for blockchain applications in finance as the technology gains traction among the world’s financial institutions.

According to the news outlet, Skorobogatova said:

"In 2017-2018, we will see real examples of the use of this system. As a closed system, I think, [the blockchain] is the future, and we need to prepare for it."

The comments come as Russia inches closer to legislation regulating so-called money surrogates, a classification of non-government issued currencies that includes bitcoin and other digital currencies.

Earlier this month, an advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin remarked that the acceptance of bitcoin would constitute a crime.

However, questions have been raised about how the country would go about actually prohibiting activities involving the digital currency. At the same time, private businesses in Russia have begun exploring applications of the technology, with payments firm Qiwi going as far as declaring its intention to issue its own kind of cryptocurrency.
